Reception of PM at airport

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was given a warm reception as she returned home tonight after wrapping up her 11-day official visit to the United States by the Secretary General of Bangladesh Medical Association -BMA.
An Emirates flight carrying Sheikh Hasina landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport here at 8.10 pm. The acting President of BMA Dr. M A Rouf Sarder, Prof. Dr. Kamrul Hasan Khan, Dr. M Nazrul Islam and Dr. M A Aziz were also present at the airport to welcome the Prime Minister.

#Whereas physicians of the then Pakistan formed an Association of their own in the year 1956 under the name of Pakistan Medical Association.
#Whereas the physicians of East Pakistan organized themselves in that Association in a Zonal basis under the name of Pakistan Medical Association (East Zone).
#Whereas the “ Pakistan Medical Association (East Zone)” participated in the National Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971 and changed its name to “ Bangladesh Medical Association -BMA

As the highest professional body of the doctors, we are working hard to improve the image of the medical profession. Whereas the Bangladesh Medical Association drafted and adopted a new Constitution of its own in the General Meeting of the Association held on the January 14, 1973.
