#Whereas physicians of the then Pakistan formed an Association of their own in the year 1956 under the name of Pakistan Medical Association.
#Whereas the physicians of East Pakistan organized themselves in that Association in a Zonal basis under the name of Pakistan Medical Association (East Zone).
#Whereas the “ Pakistan Medical Association (East Zone)” participated in the National Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971 and changed its name to “ Bangladesh Medical Association -BMA

President's Message

Bangladesh Medical Association is the national medical association of the country representing 34 thousand physicians of the country. As the highest professional body of the doctors, we are working hard to improve the image of the medical profession. It is my honour and privilege to address my dear colleagues and friends through our official website. At this opportunity I should thank all the doctor’s community of Bangladesh for giving such wonderful support and electing me as the Secretary General of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA).

BMA History

Whereas the Bangladesh Medical Association drafted and adopted a new Constitution of its own in the General Meeting of the Association held on the January 14, 1973.

Adoctor must always maintain the highest standards of professional conduct.A doctor must practice his profession uninfluenced by motives of profit.
